League Rules

6-8th Grade Recreational Basketball League

*REGULATION/POST-SEASON TOURNAMENT

  1. 4 quarter periods will be played in a game.
  2. 10-minute quarters.
  3. Controlled clock with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter only.
  4. During a free throw shot, the clock will continue to run, unless it is 2 minutes left in the 4th.
  5. Every player must play in every quarter. At the end of each quarter if a player has not played, an indirect technical foul will be called on the coach.
  6. Each team will be allotted one 20-second time out per quarter with no carry over. The clock will stop during a time out.
  7. The clock will stop during an injury to a player.
  8. No more than 2 coaches per team may sit on the bench during a game.
  9. No one but coaches, players, and officials are permitted on the game floor.
  10. Each team may start the game with a minimum of 4 players. A 10-minute waiting period will be allotted if roster cannot be filled by start of the game.
  11. No full-court pressure defense for any team 10 points ahead at any point in the game. Result in an indirect technical foul.
  12. The clock will not stop in the 2nd half if a team is winning by 20 or more points. The clock will revert back to a controlled clock if the lead becomes less than 20 points. The leading team cannot call timeout during a continuous clock if up by 20 or more points.
  13. 3 minute half time.
  14. Each tea­m must rotate their starting five players so that each player gets to start during the season.

 

*OVER TIME

  1. Each team will get 30 seconds to prepare for an over time.
  2. The over time will be 2 minutes, controlled clock.
  3. Each team will get a 30 second time out per over time.
  4. No game will end in a tie score.

 

TECHNICALS (indirect/direct)

  1. If a coach receives 1 direct technical foul, he/she must sit down for the rest of the game.
  2. If a coach received 2 direct technical fouls, he/she will be removed from the facility. This will result in a 1 game suspension. See Coaches Code of Conduct.
  3. If a coach receives 3 indirect technical fouls, he/she will be removed from the facility. This will result in a 1 game suspension. See Coaches Code of Conduct.
    A. Combination of 3 indirect technical fouls from a coach or player or both.
    B. Combination of 1 direct and 2 indirect technical fouls.

 

*OFFICIALS

  1. Will be trained by the rules of the Lincoln County Parks & Recreation and by KHSAA
  2. Officials have the final authority for making calls during the game.
  3. Calls will not be disputed with the administrators of the program at any time during the season.

 

*ADMISSION

There will be an admission for the day of the games. $3/Adult & $1/Student. Coaches and players get in free. There will also be a concession stand open.
